Arrestingly Delicious Olive Tapenade

Savory Swirl Bread with Chia & Spread-mmms


  1. Mix the chia seeds with the flour and prepare your dough, following all the regular instructions.
  2. Let dough rise (initial proof).
  3. After the initial rise, roll the dough approx. 3/4 inch thick.
  4. Slather on the Spread-mmms!    Cover the dough with a thin layer of tapenade, leaving a 1 inch border on all sides.
  5. Roll the dough together (into a long log, jelly roll style).
  6. Cut the "log" in half lengthwise (you will have two long pieces).
  7. Place the two pieces together like an "X" and then fold the ends together in an overlapping fashion (like a braid with 2 tails).
  8. Form the "braid" into a circle, tuck the ends underneath.
  9. Place dough on a (greased) baking sheet (or in a bread bowl) and let it rise again (follow instuctions for your bread recipe).
  10. Bake your bread (again, according to your recipe's instructions).
  11. Let it cool a bit and enjoy!

The addition of Spread-mmms to a basic bread recipe gives your loaf a swirl of savory goodness!  This stuff smells amazing while it is baking.

4 T Spread-mmms Tapenade

(depends on the size of your loaf, you will need enough for a thin layer to cover your dough)
